How to Add Location Search to Your Directory

Add location-based search so visitors can find nearby directory listings by city, zip code, or address.

Location search lets visitors type an address, city, or zip code to find listings near that location. Results are sorted by distance, and listings appear on an interactive map.

  1. Go to Widget SettingsSearch & Filters
  2. Click AddLocation Search
  3. Set the placeholder text (e.g., "Search by city or zip code...")
  4. Set the max search radius
  5. Save your settings

Configuration Options

Placeholder text: the hint text in the search field.

Max search radius: the maximum distance from the searched location (in km or miles, based on your widget's distance unit setting).

Show icon: display a location icon in the search bar.

Requirements

Location search needs a few things set up first:

  1. Listings need addresses: each listing you want searchable by location must have an address. Listings without addresses won't appear in location-based results.

  2. Mapbox integration: location search uses Mapbox for geocoding and map display. You'll need a Mapbox account and access token added in Map Settings. See the Map Features section of the setup guide.

  3. One per widget: you can only add one location search per directory.

Tip

Location search works best alongside a search bar so visitors can search by keyword AND location at the same time.
