How to Add a Search Bar to Your Directory

Add a keyword search bar so visitors can search your directory listings by name, description, or any text field.

A search bar lets visitors type keywords to find listings instantly. You control which fields are searchable: names, descriptions, addresses, or any custom text field.

  1. Go to Widget SettingsSearch & Filters
  2. Click AddSearch Bar
  3. Choose which fields to search (e.g., Name, Description, Address)
  4. Set placeholder text (e.g., "Search by name or keyword...")
  5. Save your settings

You can add multiple search bars if you want separate searches for different fields (e.g., one for name, one for location).

Configuration Options

Placeholder text: the hint text shown in the empty search bar. Use it to tell visitors what they can search for.

Searchable fields: choose which fields are included in search results. The more fields you include, the broader the search. At minimum, include Name.

Show icon: display a search icon inside the bar.
